Patrina is a native Washingtonian.  She has three successful adult children and three grandchildren.  She is a motivational speaker, entrepreneur, mentor, and educational advocate.
While growing up in the inner-city, she hated attending school, but later realized  the importance of obtaining a quality education that would alternately lead to a better future.  With a mission to break generational cycles of educational and economical barriers and to create better opportunities for her kids;  she went back to school after starting a family.
Patrina is an alumnus of Strayer  University, in Washington, D.C., where she received a  bachelor of science degree majoring in computer  information systems and two minor degrees: one in human resource management and the other in business administration.  Her love for special needs children inspired her to acquire a masters degree in education, majoring in cross-categorical special education from Regent University, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, graduating cum laude

Patrina's Defining Moment...

In 1992, Patrina recalls a defining but yet unfulfilled moment that would change the course of her life.  She felt a tear running down the right cheek of her face, and then hearing  “not my kids”, “not my kids” resounding from deep down inside of her being.  She remembers  waiting to pick up her oldest son from a very exclusive summer camp in Prince Georges County,  Maryland.

A camp he would not have been able to attend on her entry level position salary, while at the same time residing in low income subsidized housing.   However, he was fortunate to receive a full scholarship, winning  1st place at his School’s  Science Fair.  On that same day, she remembers seeing families whom exemplified a model that she wanted for her family.

So, she purposed in her heart to create a better life for she and her family.  Unknowingly, to Patrina the seed of The Not My Kids Foundation, Inc. was planted as well. Shortly after that, she got a better paying job and they moved out of public housing.

Compassion matched with Divine Inspiration

In 1996, Patrina started her own business, B.O.H. Systems, Inc. a staffing company and returned to school.
In 2004 she was divinely inspired to start The Not My Kids Foundation, Inc.   Today, she serves as the President and Founder.  Patrina is driven by compassion, and knows  her purpose in life is to make a positive life changing impact in the lives of  young people .  Her fight is to help them break through and overcome economical and educational barriers that hold them back from achieving their dreams.  She believes with God, a dream, and a quality education all things are possible.
Patrina also facilitates,  Professional development workshops and trainings on: “How to operate a balance literacy program”  and ” How to start and operate a small business”
